Essex County 2019 Free Summer Concerts: Fireworks, CultureFests – Belleville, NJ Patch
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — The popular Essex County Free SummerMusic Concert Series is returning for 2019.
The series of free concerts brings a diverse group of musicians and entertainers together to perform at locations throughout the Essex County Park System. This year’s series includes Friday night concerts in Brookdale Park, 13 concerts throughout the county and nine cultural festivals.

This year’s festivities includes three concert and fireworks spectaculars, according to a county news release.
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Fireworks Display
Celebrate the diversity of the Americas with the NJSO. Explore the continents with concert, theater and dance music from Leonard Bernstein, José Pablo Moncayo, Astor Piazzolla, Florence Price, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin. Hear hits from “West Side Story” and “Porgy and Bess,” travel to Mexico with Arturo Márquez’s “Conga del Fuego Nuevo” and experience patriotic favorites along with Copland’s classic “Hoe Down” from “Rodeo.” In case of rain, the concert will be relocated the Cathedral Basilica in Newark and the fireworks will be rescheduled at a later date.

Total Soul and Fireworks Display
Total Soul is led by band leader Jeff Dieterle, who has performed with Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey. The band performs with the flair of a well-rehearsed show band, complete with front line choreography, exciting lead singers, hot horns and a grooving rhythm section.

New Power Soul and Fireworks Display
New Power Soul has been performing together for over 20 years. They have a diverse playlist that includes songs by The Beatle, Elvis Presley, Etta James, Rod Stewart, Nora Jones, Big Mountain, the Jackson Five, Alicia Keys and more.
New Power Soul and the Fireworks Display will be held as follows:

FREE CONCERTS
The SummerMusic Concert Series is being sponsored by Rose Squared Productions and The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey. The series is also made possible, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. invited county residents to pack a blanket, enjoy some cool evening breezes and dance to the sounds of classical, rock and roll, jazz, big band and Latin music.
“We have an amazing line-up that is sure to entertain and impress,” DiVincenzo said.
According to a county news release, the 2019 concert series schedule includes the following shows/dates. Events with an asterisk (*) are co-sponsored by the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. Concerts are held at accessible sites. Persons who require special accommodations or assistance are asked to call at least two weeks prior to the concert to alert staff as to their needs.
