Easter Egg Hunts and Bunny Breakfasts – Baristanet
It’s almost Easter! Are you looking for egg hunts and chances to spend some time with the Bunny himself? We hunted for the local events and gathered up some of the best for you to enjoy!
The Eclectic Chic Boutique (547 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair) will host an Easter Bunny Tea Party on Saturday, April 13 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Local character actress Nola Bunny will be portraying the Easter Bunny. There will be story time, followed by snacks, juice, playtime, sing-a-long, coloring, face-painting, and photos. Each child will receive a free gift for attending. Cost is $25 per child and everything is included. Space is limited and registration is required.
The Junior Woman’s Club of Verona will host their annual Bunny Brunch on Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Verona High School Cafeteria (151 Fairview Avenue, Verona). This event features food, drinks, crafts, and a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny. Tickets are $5.25 per person to a maximum of $21 for a family of 4+. This event is open to all and Verona residency is not required. Tickets are limited and should be purchased online.
Montclair PBA Local 53, MNDC, and Montclair Recreation present Mr. Bunny’s Springtime Fun on Saturday, April 13 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Glenfield Park (25 Maple Avenue, Montclair). Welcome Spring with Mr. Bunny and lots of fun activities. The Egg Hunt begins promptly at 11:00 AM. Also enjoy lunch, music with a DJ, Face Painting, and photos with Mr. Bunny.
Essex County Environmental Center (621 Eagle Rock Avenue, Roseland) will host a Spring Forest Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 13, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM for families with children ages 1 to 6. Enjoy a story, visit with a live rabbit, and participate in an egg hunt within the forest grounds of the Environmental Center. Bring your own basket for collecting eggs which will be turned in for small prizes. Light refreshments and photo opportunities with the Easter bunny are included. Bring your own camera. Advance registration is required. The fee is $15 per child.
Turtle Back Zoo (560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange) will host Zoo Storytime with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 13, Sunday April 14, Saturday April 20, and Sunday April 21. Storytimes will be held at 10:00 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM each day. Each ticket includes a reading of two stories by Zoo Staff, meet & greet and takeaway photo with the Easter Bunny, and animal presentation. This event is recommended for children ages 12 and younger. Tickets are $12 per child and $8 per adult, plus fees. Children under 2 years old are free but should register for a special ticket. Space is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance.
Watchung Plaza Easter Egg Hunt by Family Chiropractors of Montclair will be held on Saturday, April 20 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM on The Green on Watchung Plaza (Montclair). Don’t forget to bring a basket!
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (73 S. Fullerton Avenue, Montclair) will host an Easter Bunny Egg Hunt & BBQ on Saturday, April 20, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Kids of all ages are invited for crafts and activities in the Assembly Hall. The Easter Bunny will visit for songs and photos, followed by the great egg hunt on the church lawn. This event is free, but registration is required.
St. John’s Episcopal Church (55 Montclair Avenue, Montclair) will host an Easter Egg Hunt and festive coffee hour at 10:00 AM on Sunday, April 21. Delicious refreshments will be served. The egg hunt follows the 9:00 AM Family Service and comes just before the 11:00 AM Festive Service.
Imagine That! (4 Vreeland Road, Florham Park) will host an Easter Sunday Celebration on Sunday, April 21, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Meet the Easter Bunny and receive a special Easter plush! Bring your camera for great photo opportunities. Following the Easter Bunny visit and the parade, guests are invited to stay and play until 2:00 PM. Tickets are $19.99 for children and $6.99 for adults. Tickets will not be available at the door. You must purchase online in advance.
Wallington Fire Department Park Row Hose Co. 3 will host its annual Breakfast Buffet with the Easter Bunny on Sunday, April 14, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Wallington Civic Center (24 Union Blvd, Wallington). Ticket donation is $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 4-12. Tickets will be available at the door. Enjoy breakfast and take a picture with the Easter Bunny!
Hop aboard the Easter Bunny Express and take a round-trip train ride from Flemington to Ringoes and return. On the train, meet the Bunny, listen to a story reading, and receive some free goodies! The train will operate on Saturday, April 13; Sunday, April 14; Friday, April 19; and Saturday, April 20. Tickets are $10 per child age 3-11, and $16 per person age 12 and up. Children under 3 are free with no ticket required. Tickets must be purchased in advance. The Flemington Station is located at 80 Stangl Road, Flemington, behind the Liberty Village Premium Outlets. The Cottontail Limited is also available on the same dates. Hop aboard the train at Ringoes Station for a short ride to Bowne! Children will participate in an Easter egg hunt at Bowne Station (limit 4 eggs per child) and meet the Bunny! Tickets are $16 per person age 12 and up and $12 per child age 3-11. Delaware River Railroad Excursions offers Easter Bunny Train Rides and a visit with Mr. E. Bunny on the train. Enjoy jugglers and more as you ride. The train ride will depart from the Historic District of Philipsburg (at the intersection of Interstate 78 and Highway 22) and travel to Carpentersville at the site of the historic Lime Kilns, where kids can forage for a few candy and toy filled eggs at the Easter Egg Patch. Trips run Saturday, April 13; Sunday, April 14; and Saturday, April 20 at 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:30 PM. Tickets are $12 for children ages 2-12, and $18 for ages 12+. Lap sitting children up to 2 years old are $4.
