East Orange to Provide 6000 Free Daily Summer Meals at 51 Participating Area Sites – TAPinto.net
EAST ORANGE, NJ – The City of East Orange will be participating in the 2019 Summer Food Service Program from June 24 to August 30, 2019. The USDA “Champion” Award-winning program will operate 51 sites, serving 6,000 meals daily.
The Summer Food Service Program is a federal program of the Food and Nutrition Services, United States Department of Agriculture. This program provides all children 18 years of age and under with the same free meal in accordance with a menu approved by the state agency. Select sites will serve snack at 2:00 pm, dinner at 5:00 pm and Saturday lunch at 1:00pm, including Oval Park, Elmwood Park, Memorial Park, Soverel Park, Rowley Park, Ampere Circle and two Essex County Parks: Watsessing and Westside.
