East Orange man charged with sexually assaulting a child – NJ.com
DNA evidence helped lead to the arrest of a man from East Orange who faces multiple counts of sexual assault against a child, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II announced Monday.
Abdul Crowley, 44, faces three counts of aggravated sexual assault, one count of sexual assault, one count of aggravated criminal sexual contact and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, the prosecutor’s announcement said. The child’s age was not disclosed.
The assault allegedly took place July 4, 2021. The victim “immediately” reported the crime to a member of her family, the prosecutor’s statement said. Investigators collected DNA evidence, leading to Crowley’s arrest, the prosecutor said.
Crowley awaits arraignment while he is held at the Essex County Jail, the prosecutor said.
