East Hanover Welcomes Decoded Multi Sensory Learning Center
EAST HANOVER, N.J.- East Hanover welcomes a new Learning Center in town just in time for Dyslexia Awareness Month. Decoded Learning Center is a multi-sensory based learning center located at 470 Ridgedale Avenue. The center specializes in Multi-Sensory learning and works with kids who are dealing with things such as Dyslexia, or as owner and Director, Lauren Palianto states “children who are different.”
Following a 10-year career in public education, Palianto received her Orton Gillingham certification from Fairleigh Dickinson University. The center incorporates Multi-Sensory based reading and writing skills, based on the four learning styles. Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic and Tactile styles and are utilized for a different approach in strengthening skills such as reading and writing. Palianto is often referred to as an advocate for these children with differences and after seeing a need for this type of facility in the Morris County area, she took the initiative to make a change. The facility is one on one and the activities and skills they work through are helping these children to work easier with in school and overall life. Palianto states, “ I just want to give them a chance.” A chance that can change these young lives forever.
The facility is a fun space. It is inviting when you walk in and gives the hint of a classroom but is designed to feel different that an ordinary school classroom. Palianto, being a mother to a young child herself looks forward to incorporating him into the program as well. She mentioned that she is excited for him to experience what she is helping these kids with and develop a compassion for different children as well. She also applauded her husband’s help and support in efforts with social media and overall operation of the facility.
When asked “Why East Hanover?”, Palianto mentioned a few different topics. She grew up here, went through the school systems, and graduated from Hanover Park High School in 2004. She opened in town because she feels that East Hanover is central to the Morris County communities, where most of her children come from. She exclaimed that “East Hanover is a small but involved community” and that she is excited to reinvest in the community. Palianto saw an issue and acted towards helping it. The skills her and her team will be providing to these children is life changing and truly amazing.
