Car Versus Pole —-Pole Wins! – TAPinto.net

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – Shortly after 3:30 pm on Thursday, July 25, a Volkswagen Jetta with two people in the automobile struck a utility pole in front of the Senior Citizen Housing building located at 564 Irvington Avenue. The automobile was travelling eastbound when the accident occurred. Both the Maplewood Police and Fire Department responded. The cause of the incident is unknown at this time. Fortunately neither the driver nor passenger suffered any injuries, possibly due to all the air bags deploying upon impact with the pole.
