Bruce Carl Kilgore of Newark, NJ was born on October 9, 1956 to Edith M. Kilgore and Albert C. Kilgore. He was the oldest of three children.
Bruce was educated through the Newark Public School District graduating from Weequahic High School in 1974. After high school, Bruce attended and graduated from Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He later completed a certification program in Business/Accounting from Essex County College in Newark, NJ in 1980.
Bruce, along with his family, became a member of Clear View Baptist Church in Newark, NJ under the leadership of founder, Rev. William L. Pierce, Sr. He loved the Lord and as a teenager he joined the usher board under the direction of Sis. Doris Y. Mitchell, former president of the usher board. Bruce served faithfully as an usher until he went away to college.
Bruce loved his family and sports, especially football and bowling. He never missed an opportunity to root for his favorite football teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers, on Sunday afternoons with family. He was also an avid bowler and belonged to several bowling leagues throughout Essex County over the years.
Mr. Kilgore was employed for several years by Volco Brass Manufacturers in Kenilworth, NJ before leaving to work for Burger King Corp. as a manager for several sites throughout the state of New Jersey.
Mr. Kilgore was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon and Deaconess Albert C. and Edith M. Kilgore. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving sister, Robin D. Kilgore-Hawkins, a faithful brother, Marlon B. Kilgore, a sister-in-law, Sharyn Ford-Kilgore, two nieces, Autumn R. Hawkins and Dr. Ariana K. Hawkins and one nephew, David Arelious C. Hawkins, along with a host of other family members and friends.
