Broadway Performance for Montclair-based Interfaith Hospitality Network for Homeless
Montclair, NJ – May 23, 2018 – A star studded line up of Broadway actors and singers extraordinaire will lend their talents to raise funds for Interfaith Hospitality Network for the Homeless of Essex County, (IHN), a Montclair based family shelter and housing assistance program. Titled “At Home on Stage”, the cabaret and comedy event will be held on Monday, June 4th at The Woodland, 60 Woodland Road, in Maplewood. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with a cocktail hour, and opportunity to mingle and get your photo taken with the Broadway performers on stage, followed by live performances at 8:00 p.m. A live auction of tickets to current Broadway shows including “Hello Dolly”, “Beautiful”, and “Chicago,” will occur concurrently.
“At Home on Stage” is the brain child of long time Maplewood resident and veteran Broadway star Robert DuSold (Les Miserables, Jekyll & Hyde, The Producers), and is co-chaired by IHN Board President, and South Orange resident Chris Murphy.
DuSold, who is well known in the area for organizing charity fundraisers for a variety of important causes, will be joined on stage by Broadway stars from Wicked, Mamma Mia, Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Fiddler on the Roof, Showboat, Chicago, The Lion King, Memphis, and Kiss of the Spider Woman. The actors, all of whom agreed to volunteer their time and talents, were moved by DuSold’s passion to rally around the issue of homelessness affecting vulnerable families in Essex County.
Joining the star studded line up of performers this year on stage, will be Jacqueline Graham, a Montclair resident and former IHN client whose performance credits include her role as (Sally) in Winner Take All, directed by John Carrafa. Graham’s previous credits include: Walt Disney World’s Festival of the Lion King (Zawadi), Smokey Joe’s Café (BJ), and Dream Girls (Effie), to name a few. Graham said, “IHN helped me so much in my time of need, I want to give back to the organization because I understand what a family goes through in a housing crisis.”
Returning to add laughter to the cabaret evening will be Erin Maguire, the emcee and a stand-up comic. Originally from Boston, she now calls NYC her home base. Maguire appears regularly at Broadway Comedy Club, Stand UP NY, and NY Comedy Club and recently returned from the Women in Comedy Festival.
The singers will be accompanied by the incredibly talented pianist and composer, John O’Neill, Hugh Jackman’s accompanist!
