NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — A crash in New Jersey’s largest city has left a woman and a child dead and several other people injured, authorities said.

The crash in Newark occurred around 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Central Avenue and Broad Street, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many vehicles were involved in the crash or how the accident occurred. The names of the woman and child were not released.

Those hurt in the crash were being treated at hospitals for undisclosed injuries.
