Bunny Trains, Egg Hunts, Easter Bunny and More!
Hunting for some fun Easter events? Easter is right around the corner, which means it’s time for egg hunts and hanging out with the Easter Bunny! There are many local events and we’ve gathered up some of the best for you to enjoy!
Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center (240 Belleville Avenue, Bloomfield) will hold its annual Brunch with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, March 24, at 11:00 AM. Children ages 3 to 9 will participate in a craft project, have a picture taken with the Bunny, and receive a balloon and a special treat. Cost is $16 per child and $12 per adult. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations are required.
Unity of Montclair (84 Orange Road, Montclair) will hold an Easter Egg Hunt for children and families of the community immediately after Service on Sunday, March 25, from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM. Please bring a bag or basket to hold the eggs, which will be filled with candy and surprises.
Watchung Plaza Easter Egg Hunt by Family Chiropractors of Montclair will be held on Saturday, March 31, at 11:00 AM sharp at Watchung Plaza Green (Montclair). Don’t forget to bring a basket!
Redeemer Montclair Church (19 North Willow Street, Montclair) will host an egg hunt with other fun activities on Saturday, March 31, from 10:15 AM to 11:30 AM. There will be balloons, crafts, games, food, and a magician. Children will be separated by age for egg hunts. Please register in advance.
Essex County Environmental Center (621 Eagle Rock Avenue, Roseland) will host a Spring Forest Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM for families with children ages 1 to 6. Enjoy a story, visit with a live rabbit, and participate in an egg hunt within the forest grounds of the Environmental Center. Bring your own basket for collecting eggs which will be turned in for small prizes. Light refreshments and photo opportunities with the Easter bunny are included. Bring your own camera. Advance registration is required. The fee is $15 per child.
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (73 S. Fullerton Avenue, Montclair) will host an Easter Bunny Egg Hunt & BBQ on Saturday, March 31, at 11:00 AM. Kids of all ages are invited for crafts and dress up activities in the Assembly Hall. The Easter Bunny will visit for songs and photos, followed by the great egg hunt on the church lawn. This event is free but registration is required.
St. John’s Episcopal Church (55 Montclair Avenue, Montclair) will host an Easter Egg Hunt and festive coffee hour at 10:00 AM on Sunday, April 1. Delicious refreshments will be served. The egg hunt follows the 9:00 AM Family Service and comes just before the 11:00 AM Festive Service.
Turtle Back Zoo (560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange) will host Zoo Storytime with the Easter Bunny on Friday March 30, Saturday March 31, and Sunday April 1. Storytimes will be held at 10:00 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM each day. Each ticket includes a reading of two stories by Zoo Staff, meet & greet and takeaway photo with the Easter Bunny, animal presentation, and general zoo admission ticket for non-members. This event is recommended for children ages 12 and younger. Tickets are $30/non-member child, $20 per non-member adult, $18 member child, $5 member adult. Children under 2 years old are free but should register for a special ticket. Space is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance.
Imagine That! (4 Vreeland Road, Florham Park) will host a Bunny Breakfast plus Egg Hunt and Parade on Sunday, April 1, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Meet the Easter Bunny and receive a special Easter plush! Bring your camera for great photo opportunities. Tickets are $19.99 for children and $6.99 for adults. Tickets will not be available at the door. You must purchase online in advance.
Families can hippity-hop their way to Chevys Fresh Mex (365 NJ-3, Clifton) for some fun on Saturday March 31, where kids can participate in an egg-cellent Easter Egg Hunt at 10:30am. Kids must “BYOB” – bring your own basket – to collect colorful eggs full of treats throughout the restaurant. Guests are encouraged to arrive on time as eggs are limited. Families can also enjoy a kids eat free special following the Easter Egg Hunt from 11am-12pm.
Delaware River Railroad Excursions offers Easter Bunny Train Rides and a visit with Mr. E. Bunny on the train. Enjoy jugglers and banjo-playing hobos as you ride. The train ride will depart from the Historic District of Philipsburg (at the intersection of Interstate 78 and Highway 22) and travel to Carpentersville at the site of the historic Lime Kilns, where kids can forage for a few candy and toy filled eggs at the Easter Egg Patch. Trips run Saturday, March 24; Sunday, March 25; and Saturday, March 31 at 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:30 PM. Tickets are $11 for children ages 2-12, and $18 for ages 12+. Lap sitting children up to 2 years old are $4.
Hop aboard the Easter Bunny Express and take a round-trip train ride from Flemington to Ringoes and return. Children can enjoy goodies passed out by the Bunny’s helpers, who will also read a story. Meet the Bunny and take a photo too! The train will operate on Saturday, March 24, Sunday March 25, and Friday March 30 at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. Tickets are $9 per child age 3-11, and $16 per person age 12 and up. Children under 3 are free with no ticket required. Registration is required. The Flemington Station is located at 80 Stangl Road, Flemington, behind the Liberty Village Premium Outlets.
