Man, 43, Stabbed To Death Near Newark Penn Station: Police – Newark, NJ Patch

NEWARK, NJ — A 43-year-old man was stabbed to death during an argument at a busy intersection near Newark Penn Station on Monday, police said.

Rashon Williams, 43, of Newark was stabbed at noon near McCarter Highway and Market Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:10 p.m. via telemetry by a doctor at University Hospital, authorities said.

Williams and the suspected assailant, Lance Boone, 55, allegedly got into an argument that led to the fatal stabbing, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Public Safety Department.

Boone is being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility. He has been charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, authorities announced Tuesday.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the stabbing.
