Prosecutor: West Orange mother, daughter may have died of gunshots – NorthJersey.com

The deaths of a West Orange mother and her 6-year-old daughter are considered suspicious and are believed to have been due to gunshot wounds, authorities said Tuesday.

A relative found Sushmiba Bardhan, 36, and the girl Sunday in their Suzan Court apartment, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Prosecutors said a preliminary investigation indicates that both sustained fatal gunshot injuries, but there is no danger to the community. No further information was immediately released.
