Fatal Shooting In Newark, No Arrests: Essex County Prosecutor – Newark, NJ Patch

NEWARK, NJ — Authorities are investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 28-year-old man in Newark. No arrests have been made as of Friday.

Devante Perry, 28, of Newark, was fatally shot on the 100-block of Avon Avenue on May 16. He was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m., according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is conducting an ongoing investigation and is seeking assistance from the public. Anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
