Edward and Peggy DeFrehn – New Jersey Herald

BYRAM — Edward and Peggy (Yetman) DeFrehn, of Byram are celebrating their 70th anniversary. Currently they are waiting to celebrate this incredible milestone once it is safe to do so after the pandemic. The couple met at the Jersey Shore and they were married May 30, 1950, in Little Falls.
They have five children, Bruce DeFrehn (Kim), of Groton, Conn., Bonnie Reid (John), of Rutherford, Dawn Alvarez (Mike), of Newton, Debbie Smith (Brian), of Wilmington, N.C., and Ed DeFrehn Jr., of Stillwater; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Ed retired from Essex County Shade Tree Commission, Cedar Grove, as a foreman and certified tree expert. Peggy retired as an executive secretary at Dell Publishing in Pine Brook. They are members of the Andover Presbyterian Church.
