We expect to see the database issues to be resolved this week.Burlington County is actively engaged in contact tracing positive COVID19 cases. The focus is on close contacts, defined as closer than 6 feet for more than 10 minutes, household contacts and those that work in high risk settings such as healthcare workers and long term care facilities. If community exposure has occurred, where a COVID-19 positive person was in close contact with people for an extended period of time, while symptomatic, we will notify the public. Since residents are abiding by the social distancing requirements, we have not run into that issue since our first releases. Reminder: Mass exposure, due to social distancing guidelines, and the cooperation of the public has been minimized. Residents are reminded to remain 6 feet apart while obtaining essential items or services, and stay home unless absolutely necessary.

New COVID-19 cases announced in Camden County
59 additional cases announced by Health Department
(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing 59 additional confirmed cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 6,588 in Camden County today and 320 total fatalities.
“As we continue to mourn the residents lost to COVID, today offered a small glimmer of hope with only 59 confirmed cases. We have generally seen falling numbers over the past week dropping our growth rate to just over 1 percent,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “As the weather warms up and access to testing continues to grow, we may see the rate fall under 1 percent, which would be a great milestone. Nevertheless, we cannot become complacent. Wear a mask when out in public, wash your hands and always remember to maintain a six-foot perimeter. These are the only tools we have at our disposal to stop the transmission of this virus and to end the pandemic.”
The Department of Health is announcing 59 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
Cappelli continued about some of the new benchmarks set by Governor Phil Murphy.
“I also want to applaud the governor for getting us one step closer to going back to work, by setting tangible dates for the reopening of day cares, summer camps and youth sports,” Cappelli said. “Nothing in the state can reopen unless families have a safe place to send their children as we slowly return to significantly different workplaces. I know Governor Murphy will be following the science and data that will guide us to a place where we can reacclimate ourselves – with safety standards and mitigation strategies in place – to a life we lived prior to the pandemic.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,119 confirmed resident cases and 382 confirmed staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 6,588 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this current time 237 resident deaths and three staff deaths have been reported from these facilities out of our 320 total fatalities countywide.

The figures reflect COVID-19 positive cases as of the date and time indicated, some cases which may be pending, or have yet to be entered into the system.
Please note the following limitations and provisos related to the data above:
- COVID-19-related deaths are not included in this data. Visit the State of NJ COVID-19 Dashboard for a summary of death totals.
- Pursuant to HIPAA, specific identifying health information of persons testing positive or who have passed due to the virus will not be released.
- Data reflects COVID-19 positive cases on dates and times indicated; some cases may be pending and are not yet entered.
- Data may not include cases with incomplete or incorrect street addresses or PO boxes. Such cases require additional investigation by local health officials.
- Figures do not include persons under quarantine/isolation due to exposure and who have not tested positive.
- The numbers, especially higher numbers, do not necessarily reflect community spread in a specific town. Various factors may be related to high numbers, such as increased testing and facilities with high-risk populations.
- This data should not be used to gauge if heightened precautions are needed in specific towns. Social distancing, hand hygiene, and preventive steps must be followed at all times regardless of the number of cases in a municipality.
