A Jersey City pastor was sentenced to eight years in prison on Friday for the sexual assault of 10-year-old girl, officials said.

Orlando Martinez-Chavez, 48, was convicted of sexual assault in September for an incident involving a 10-year-old girl at Iglesia Pentecostal Lirio de los Valles church in Jersey City, where he was pastor, in 2013, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.

Martinez-Chavez also pleaded guilty on charges related to two additional victims in October. He was sentenced to 18 months for criminal sexual contact for the second victim and five years for endangering the welfare of a child for the third victim. The sentencings will run concurrent, Suarez said.

Martinez-Chavez is required to register under Megan’s Law and is subject to parole supervision for life.
