Short Hills Mall Bomb Threat Draws Local, County and State Officials – TAPinto.net

SHORT HILLS, NJ — Earlier this afternoon, local and county police were called to the Mall at Short Hills for a Suspected bomb threat.

In a statement from the Millburn Police Department, it was announced that police responded to the Neiman Marcus at the mall over a “telephonic bomb threat.”

The statement went on to say that members of the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, Bomb Unit and New Jersey State Police also responded.

That information was confirmed, with a call to the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, which confirmed that the Millburn Police had requested K9 and bomb units for the response at the mall.

Following a sweep of the mall, the statement said that the area was declared safe and the threat was declared not credible. At that time, police dispersed from the scene.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
