Three Events Kick-Start Succeed2gether’s Montclair Literary Festival 2020 – TAPinto.net
Succeed2gether’s Montclair Literary Festival will kick-start its fourth festival in 2020 with three notable events, worthy of being festival headliners in themselves.
On Wednesday January 22 2020, iconic author Isabel Allende will visit Montclair as part of her book launch tour to talk about A Long Petal of the Sea/ Largo pétalo de mar. This masterful work of historical fiction spans decades and crosses continents, following two young people as they flee the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War in search of a place to call home. Tickets include a pre-signed copy of the English or Spanish version of the book bit.ly/2RkoTIZ.
On Thursday February 6 2020, renowned author, New Yorker staff writer, and podcast host Malcolm Gladwell will discuss the nuances of Talking to Strangers: What We Should Know About The People We Don’t Know. This will be an evening of fascinating insights and anecdotes from the author of The Tipping Point, Outliers, and David and Goliath. Tickets bit.ly/2LoY6HH.
Then, just before the festival, National Book Award-winning and bestselling author of Let the Great World Spin, Colum McCann will be in Montclair to discuss his new epic novel Apeirogon on Thursday March 12, 2020. This novel, about two fathers in Israel and Palestine who are joined together by the miracle of stories and story-telling, is a tour de force concerning friendship, love, loss, and belonging. Tickets bit.ly/2YsaJar.
VIP tickets are also available for all the above events, which include VIP admission and reserved seating, and a reception following the event, which the author will attend when possible.
The 2020 Succeed2gether’s Montclair Literary Festival will take place from March 25 to March 29. It’s not too late to become a Festival Sponsor or Festival Patron which gives you ticket/s to see Isabel Allende, Malcolm Gladwell, and Colum McCann, plus all the Festival Day ticketed events, any VIP receptions, and the closing Festival Party. Other company and corporate matching sponsorship opportunities are available here.
The festival is a fundraiser for Montclair-based non-profit Succeed2gether, which offers free after-school one-on-one tutoring and enrichment classes with the aim of closing the education opportunity gap in Essex County. In keeping with the ethos of its parent company, the majority of festival events are free to all.
The festival wishes to thank event partners Succeed2gether staff, Montclair Public Library, First Congregational Church, and Watchung Booksellers, and festival sponsors Rao’s, Montclair State University, West of Hudson Realty Group, and community members.
In March 2019 more than 3000 people attended Succeed2gether’s third Montclair Literary Festival to hear from over 130 authors in 63 events, including Joyce Carol Oates, Sigrid Nunez, Nathan Englander, Wayétu Moore, Fiona Davis, Laurie Lico Albanese, David Ebershoff, Jonathan Santlofer, and Sam Lipsyte.
