LD26 Assembly Candidate Christine Clarke Endorsed by the Humane Society Legislative Fund – InsiderNJ

Jefferson Twp., NJ:   26th Legislative District State Assembly candidate Christine Clarke has received the endorsement of The Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF). They have only endorsed a handful of candidates for the New Jersey State Assembly. Clarke is the only candidate HSLF endorsed in the 26th District.

HSLF’s mission is to get political for animals by ensuring animals have a voice in the halls of Congress and state legislatures, educating elected officials and the public on animal welfare issues, electing humane candidates to public office, and utilizing the ballot initiative process to protect animals.

HSLF’s motto is, “Animals can only win when humane candidates and issues do.” When introducing herself, Clarke describes herself as someone who will legislate with empathy.

“A society is defined by how it treats its most vulnerable. Our pets, wildlife, and marine life, like our environment, can not articulate their needs in halls of government, and thus it’s our responsibility to be advocates for their well being. I will work with HSLF to advance policy that promotes compassionate treatment of our pets, farm animals, marine life and wildlife, and protects biodiversity. The state plays an important role in all of this, as evidenced earlier this year with the passage of a law making it easier for law enforcement to remove animals from life- and health- threatening situations.”

Clarke is an environmental advocate, a grassroots organizer and a mother-of-four running for State Assembly to advance clean energy jobs, protect clean air and water, improve healthcare, and legislate with empathy and fiscal responsibility.  She is endorsed by a number of unions, environmental groups, women’s rights organizations, civic engagement and grassroots coalitions. She has lived in Jefferson for 15 years with her husband and four children. Learn more about her at www.clarkeforassembly.com.

The 26th District includes 13 communities in Essex, Morris, and Passaic counties: Butler, Fairfield, Jefferson, Kinnelon, Lincoln Park, Montville, Morris Plains, North Caldwell, Parsippany, Rockaway Township, Verona, West Caldwell, and West Milford.
