2019 Essex County SummerMusic Concert Series Begins Saturday – TAPinto.net

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — The public is invited to experience firework displays and some of the area’s best musical acts in jazz, doo wop, rock, reggae, Latin and more through the free Essex County SummerMusic Concert Series, which brings a diverse group of musicians and entertainers to perform at locations throughout the historic Essex County Park System and provides residents with an evening leisure activity to enjoy the parks.

Over the course of 11 weeks—beginning on June 22 with a House Music Festival in Weequahic Park and concluding on Sept. 8 with Mike Griot’s Essex County South Mountain Blues Festival at the South Mountain Recreation Complex—30 different events will be held throughout the county, including three concert and fireworks spectaculars, Friday night concerts in Brookdale Park, 13 concerts and nine cultural festivals.

“The Essex County Free Summer Music Concert Series offers a diverse lineup of performers who will take center stage throughout our historic Parks System,” said Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo, Jr. “Pack a blanket, enjoy the cool evening breeze, and dance to the sounds of classical, rock and roll, jazz, big band, Latin and more. We have an amazing line-up that is sure to entertain and impress.”
