The Parkers Headline Teen and Family Night Concert in Millburn – TAPinto.net
MILLBURN, NJ – The original date was postponed, but under a warm and clear evening sky, the Ten and Family Night Concert went off in Taylor Park.
The night showcased three separate acts; Soulfege A Capella, Powdered Elephants and The Parkers. Soulfege kicked off the evening with a condensed set, that included a rendition of the national anthem.
After performing, incoming Soulfege president PJ Powar said that it was great to get the band back together and tune-up before the school year performance slate starts up again.
“it’s always a lot of fun to get the group together,” Powar said. “We had actually taken a little break for the summer because we had some graduating seniors. But to come together at this time…and just get a little refresher, have a little fun, sing some of the classics that we sing, it’s a lot of fun.”
Following Soulfege, Powdered Elephants took the stage. The group consists of Kyle Farscht on Synthesizer and Keypad, and Danielle Benne on Lead Vocals. After the performance, Benne spoke with TAPinto about the band’s set.
“[We got] a lot of experience, which helps with anything,” Benne said. “But I think that I grew a connection not only with my firends but with the people in the town. It’s important to be able to express yourself and especially through music. That’s the biggest way that I see it.”
At the end of the set, Benne left the stage and allowed Farscht to play and sing a couple of new songs from his currently untitled solo project. Afterward, Farscht said it was a thrill to play his tracks publicly for the first time.
“The album is still unreleased, so it was my first time even sharing those songs publicly,” Farscht said. “So I was really happy and really proud to be able to present those because I’ve grown so much as an artist with Powdered Elephants, that this is a new point in my life.”
