NEWARK, NJ — Newark Airport shut down all incoming and outgoing flights this morning, according to the airport’s Twitter feed. At 9:37 a.m., the airport’s twitter feed stated:

Multiple media sources, including WABC and WPIX-TV, are reporting that a Houston-bound United Airline plane that left LaGuardia had to make an emergency stop in Newark due to possible mechanical failures, and having landed saefly with blown tires, and securred the situation, the airport is operating again.

Anyone flying today should check with their airlines regarding flight schedules.
