The Fourth of July is coming up, and you know what that means in New Jersey – lots of fireworks shows.

Granted, fireworks are offered year-round in many places, but shows in conjunction with Independence Day always carry a special meaning.

This year’s shows will offer the same festive spirit associated with New Year’s Eve, but with a patriotic flourish.

So just where are the July 4, 2019 displays closest to you in N.J.? Thanks for asking. We have a compiled a list of more than a hundred Fourth of July fireworks displays in all 21 counties.

What time, date and location are these Fourth of July 2019 fireworks displays? Scroll down to find out. Please note that many events, including fireworks displays, are not on July 4 and some are scheduled for late June. Counties are listed in alphabetical order.

Also note that many of the celebrations involve more than just fireworks! From concerts and 5K races to even a soapbox derby, there is something for everyone.

ATLANTIC COUNTY

Atlantic City’s fireworks will begin around 9:15 p.m on July 4 along the boardwalk and marina district.

Tropicana Casino and Resort will be hosting the Free Fireworks Series by Grucci every Saturday at 10 p.m, and on July 4.

Buena Vista Township will host its 31st Annual Independence Day Celebration at 11 a.m. at Michael Debbi Park in Richland on Saturday, July 6. Parade begins at 3 p.m. Fireworks begin at dusk, rain date July 13.

Northfield’s parade begins at 10 a.m. on July 4 on Jackson Avenue and Broad Street. There will be free hot dogs and sodas at Burton Avenue Fire Station Pavilion at the end of the parade. Northfield’s Mothers’ League will also be giving out free frozen treats. The rain date is July 6.

BERGEN COUNTY

State Fair Meadowlands in East Rutherford with display fireworks on July 3 and July 4.

Allendale’s Independence Day Celebration begins at 7 a.m. with a flag-raising morning salute in Memorial Park. A concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks display starts at 9 p.m., rain date July 6.

Fair Lawn’s Fireworks Show is set for Monday, July 1 at Memorial Park, between Berdan Avenue and 1st Street. Fireworks will begin between 9 and 9:15 p.m.

Hackensack’s Fourth of July Celebration is at Foshini Park. The Inferno Band will perform at 7:15 p.m. and fireworks start at 9:15 p.m.

Maywood’s fireworks display is July 3 at Memorial Park. Entertainment by Jumpin’ Dragons at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Times are approximate.

Oradell’s fireworks display is July 3 at Memorial Field. Fireworks begin at 7:30 p.m. There will be food trucks and live music. Rain date is July 7.

The Paramus Independence Day Parade begins at 9 a.m. on July 4 at the intersection of Century Road and Farview Avenue. The fireworks show begins at 6 p.m. on July 7 at the Cliff Gennarelli Sports-Complex.

Ridgewood’s 4th of July Celebration begins with a flag raising at Wilsey Park at 9 a.m. followed by a parade at 10 a.m. Evening entertainment and fireworks begin at 6 p.m. at Veterans Field. Gates close at 9 p.m. with a fireworks grand finale. Rain date July 5.

Rutherford’s 4th of July Fireworks Celebration will be held on June 30.

Teaneck’s July 4th Community Celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Richard Rodda Community Center parking lot.

Tenafly’s Town Wide Independence Day Celebration begins at 10 a.m. June 29 at Roosevelt Common. Fireworks display at approximately 9 p.m., rain date June 30.

The Township of Saddle Brook will host its annual firework display on July 3 at Otto Pehle Park on Saddle River Road. Fireworks display at 7 p.m.

BURLINGTON COUNTY

Bordertown Township’s fireworks display will be July 5 at Joseph Lawrence Park on Ward Ave. Rain date is July 6.

Florence Township’s Patriotic Celebration will begin at 11 a.m. July 6. More details will be available on Township Website as the date gets closer.

Mount Holly’s celebration will be July 5 at 5 p.m. in Iron Works Park. Rain date July 6 at the same time.

Medford Township’s fireworks display will be July 3, rain date is July 5.

Riverton will kick off its 4th of July celebration with a 5K run starting at 8:15 a.m. followed by a parade at 10 a.m. Activities also include a backyard challenge, carriage rides, and games at Riverton Park at approximately 11:45 a.m. A downhill race starts at Elm Terrace at Park Avenue at 2:30 p.m. followed by a pet pageant at 3:30 p.m. at the Riverton Free Library and a raft race at 5 p.m. at Bank Avenue North of Riverton Yacht Club.

CAMDEN COUNTY

Battleship New Jersey in Camden will host its 29th Independence Celebration Fireworks Show on June 29. The Battleship will open her desks at 7 p.m. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tickets are a $10 donation from each person. This is a standing-only event. No chairs will be permitted.

Collingswood’s 4th of July Celebration gates open at 6:30 p.m. on July 4. Show starts at 8 p.m. and fireworks display begins at approximately 9:15 p.m. Admission is free, rain date July 5.

Camden County’s Freedom Festival will begin at 5 p.m. at Wiggins Park featuring the Tri-County Symphonic Band and Grammy Award-winning Boz Scaggz. Freedom Festival will also have a beer garden featuring Tonewood Brewing Nest. The fireworks show from Serpico Pyrotechnics will begin at 9:30 p.m. over the Delaware River.

Haddonfield will host its Yankee Doodle Do Parade at 10 a.m. on July 3. The street festival starts at 6 p.m., and fireworks at 9:20 p.m.

Haddon Township’s Independence Day Parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. from the Municipal Building to the Crystal Lake Pool on July 4.

Oaklyn hosts its annual Independence Day Parade at 10 a.m. on July 4.

CAPE MAY COUNTY

Avalon City will host its annual Boat Parade starting at 11:30 a.m. Avalon will also host its Independence Day Celebration starting at 6 p.m. at the 30th Street beach parking lot. Fireworks will start at approximately 8:45 p.m. All activities are free and open to the public.

Lower Township’s Independence Day Festival begins at 5 p.m. on July 3 along the Bay in North Cape May. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

North Wildwood’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular will begin at 10 p.m. on July 4. Rain date is July 5 at 10 p.m..

Ocean City’s Fourth of July Celebration will begin at 7 p.m. on July 4. There will be a kite flying competition followed by festivities on the beach next to the Music Pier. Fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m.

Sea Isle City hosts its Independence Day Celebration on July 4 starting at 9:30 a.m. Fireworks will start at 9 p.m. at the 50th St. Beach.

Stone Harbor’s Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks begins at 7:30 p.m.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Bridgeton’s Independence Day Celebration starts off with its annual horseshoe tournament at 11 a.m. The fireworks show begins at approximately 9:30 p.m. at Alden Field in Bridgeton City Park.

The Cumberland County Fair is set for July 2-6, with fireworks on July 5.

ESSEX COUNTY

Belleville’s Independence Day Celebration festivities begins at 6 p.m. at Belleville Municipal Stadium. Fireworks display will begin at approximately 9 p.m.

Livingston’s 84th Annual July 4th Celebration will begin at 9 a.m. with the Classic Car Show & Kiwanis Swim Karnival on Memorial Oval (on Robert Harp Drive). A Bands, Beer, and Wine Café will feature bands from 3:30 to 7 p.m. DOA (Bon Jovi Tribute Band) will perform at 7:45 p.m. and fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m.

Maplewood’s Fourth of July opening ceremony starts at 9 a.m at Maplewood Memorial Park on July 4. There will be live music, tennis contests, games, a car show, and a parade. The light show will begin at 9:25 p.m, followed by a firework display.

Montclair kicks off its 4th of July Celebration on July 4. The parade begins at 11 a.m. at North Fullerton Avenue, followed by a picnic at 1 p.m. at Edgemont Memorial Park.

Township of Nutley will host its 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks at Park Oval with food and music starting at 6:30 p.m. The fireworks display is scheduled to start at dusk.

Verona’s music and entertainment will begin at 7 p.m. at Liberty Field off White Rock Road on July 1. Fireworks display scheduled for dusk at the Verona Community Center, rain date is July 2.

West Orange will begin its celebration at 5:30 p.m. on July 4 at West Orange High School.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY

Monroe Township’s fireworks will be at dusk on July 4 at the Williamstown High School Grounds. The rain date is July 5.

Paulsboro’s parade will begin at 8 a.m. on July 4.

Washington Township’s 4th of July parade begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington Township High School on July 4.

Wenonah’s Independence Day Parade will start at 8 a.m. on July 4.

HUDSON COUNTY

Jersey City’s 50 Star Fire Show festival will begin at noon on July 4 at Exchange Place. Fireworks display time and more information will be posted on the event’s website soon.

Bayonne’s Independence Day Fireworks display is July 3 at DiDomenico – 16th Street Park. Fireworks show begins at approximately 9:15 p.m, rain date July 7.

Kearny’s 4th of July Celebration starts at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans Field. Activities will include face painting, pony rides, face painters and live music. The fireworks will begin at approximately 9:05 p.m.

Union City’s Independence Day Celebration is July 2 on Bergenline Avenue – between 22nd to 26th Streets. Celebration will begin at 6 p.m.

HUNTERDON COUNTY

The Flemington-Raritan Parks and Recreation will be hosting fireworks on July 3. Music will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the upper parking lot of Reading Fleming Intermediate School on Court Street. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m., rain date July 5.

Lambertville and New Hope will have fireworks starting around 9 p.m. on July 5 at the Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce.

Lebanon’s 72nd Fourth of July Parade will begin with a children’s parade at 9:30 a.m. on July 4. The main parade will begin at 10 a.m. Festivities after the parade will be held at Holjes-Sheppard Park with a flag raising ceremony, presentation of awards, refreshments, and games. All roads into Lebanon close at 9 a.m.

MERCER COUNTY

The East Windsor Township Independence Day Celebration starts at 6 p.m. on July 6 at Etra Lake Park. Musical acts featured include Jerry Rife’s Rhythm Kings, Dixieland Jazz Band, and Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One Band. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.

Hamilton Township will host fireworks and a concert on July 3 at Veterans Park. The concert begins at 6 p.m. with a performance by The Heartbeats. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. The rain date is July 4.

Lawrence Township will host its Fourth of July Celebration on June 28. Music and festivities will begin at 7 p.m. Fireworks displays are scheduled for approximately 9:15 p.m.. The rain date is June 29.

The Freedom Fest State Fair will be held in Mercer County Park from July 10-14. Fireworks will be displayed at the conclusion of the Jo Dee Messina Concert on July 14, rain date July 15.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY

Cranbury Township will host its Independence Day Celebration on July 5 at Village Park. The Mercer County Symphony will perform from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and fireworks will begin at dusk. The rain date is July 6.

Highland Park’s Independence Day Celebration will be held on July 3. Music and entertainment begin at 5 p.m. There will be vendors and food trucks. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:20 p.m., rain date July 7.

East Brunswick’s Fourth of July Celebration Festivities begin at 4 p.m. on July 4 and the rain date is July 5.

Milltown’s Fourth of July Parade will start at 10 a.m. on Main Street on July 4. There will be live music and vendors starting at 7 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m., rain date July 6.

Monroe Township’s 4th of July Celebration is from 8-10 p.m. and fireworks will begin at dusk.

Perth Amboy and South Amboy’s Celebrate Our Stars and Stripes Festival is on July 3 at Raritan Bay. The festival starts at 5 p.m. with fireworks beginning at approximately 9:20 p.m. The rain date is July 5.

Piscataway’s Annual Fourth of July Fireworks are at the Piscataway High School Stadium. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. including kiddie rides, food vendors, and music. The fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

Sayreville will host an Independence Day Celebration on June 29 at Kennedy Park from 4-10 p.m. All activities are free from 4-8 p.m., including children’s rides, games, food court, and events throughout the day. Wanted DOA (Bon Jovi Tribute Band) will be performing from 7-9:30 p.m. Fireworks start at approximately 9:30 p.m. and rain date is June 30.

South Brunswick’s Independence Day Celebration is July 3. There will be activities, music, and food at Crossroads South Fields on Major Road from 6-9 p.m. and fireworks begin at 9 p.m. The rain date is July 5.

Woodbridge Township’s fireworks are July 3 at Alvin P Williams Park. Gates open at 4 p.m. The rain date is July 5. The exact start time for fireworks will be posted on the website.

MONMOUTH

Aberdeen’s fireworks are July 6 at Veterans Memorial Park. A holiday celebration will begin at 6 p.m., concluding by 9:30 p.m. with the fireworks show.

Atlantic Highlands’ fireworks are at 9:45 p.m. July 5 at the Municipal Harbor, 2 Simon Lake Drive. The “fireman’s fair” is from July 2-6 at the same location, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. all nights.

Freehold’s fireworks are at July 3 at Freehold Raceway, as part of the annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks celebration, presented by Downtown Freehold and the Borough of Freehold. Gates open at 6 p.m. and will feature live music by the Rock N Roll Chorus at 6:30 pm, followed by Daddy Pop from 7 – 9:15 pm. Freehold native Kason Jackson will again sing The Star Spangled Banner, immediately followed by fireworks.

Fireworks in Hazlet are July 3 at dusk at Veterans Park.

Keansburg Amusement Park will have fireworks July 4 at 9 p.m.

The 29th annual Oceanfest at Long Branch is July 4, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fireworks are at 9 p.m. It is billed as “an all-day, family friendly festival that brings together the most memorable sights, sounds and sensations of the summer season.”

Fireworks in Manasquan are at sunset July 3 at Manasquan Beach. The event starts at 5:15 p.m. and includes a parade, bicycle decorating contest and concert by Billy Lawlor at 7:30 p.m.

Matawan’s fireworks are June 29 at sunset at at Lake Lefferts Lakefront.

Ocean Township’s Independence Day fireworks are July 3 at sunset at Joe Palaia Park Michael J. Cernigliani Festival Grounds. Event begins at 6:30 p.m.

Union Beach’s Independence Day fireworks at on July 3 on the beachfront.

MORRIS COUNTY

Chatham is hosting the annual Independence Day on Main Street on July 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Fireworks at dusk at Chatham Middle School.

Denville will host a fireworks show at Gardner Field on July 4 starting around 9 p.m. The event will begin at 7 p.m. with a performance by the Street Hassle band.

Dover’s fireworks celebration and concert is July 3, starting at 6 p.m. at Hamilton Field.

Florham Park’s celebration starts July 4 at 9 a.m. with a flag raising ceremony at Firehouse #1 on Brooklake Road. The parade will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Ridgedale Avenue and Brooklake Road. Fireworks will start at dusk at Emmet Field.

The annual celebration in Hanover is July 1. It begins at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Complex/Community Center where there will be food trucks, activities and much more. “The Infernos” will play at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks will begin at dusk.

The Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club in Mount Arlington will have a fireworks display at dusk June 28.

The annual Montville Township Fourth of July celebration runs from June 27 to June 29 at Montville High School. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. on June 29.

Morris Plain’s annual Family Day and Fireworks begins at 5 p.m. June 29 at Morris Plains Community Park. Fireworks will go off at 9:30 p.m. Rain date is June 30.

Morristown is the setting for the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence at noon July 4 on the Morristown Green.

Parsippany is hosting its annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks starting at 7:30 p.m. July 4 at Parsippanny Hills High School.

Pequannock will have a fireworks display at dusk June 28 at Pequannock Township High School

The annual Randolph Township Freedom Festival is from July 4 to July 6 at County College of Morris. It concludes at dusk July 6 with fireworks.

OCEAN COUNTY

Beachwood’s fireworks will start at 9 p.m. at the beachfront July 4.

Brick Township’s 25th Summerfest is on July 4 at Windward Beach. A 7 p.m. concert will be followed by fireworks at dark. Free shuttle buses will be available from 5 p.m. from the following locations: Brick Township High School, Drum Point Elementary School, Veterans Memorial Middle School, Midstreams Elementary School and Brick Memorial High School (BMHS July 4th only). Last bus to Windward at 8 p.m.; return trips begin at 9 p.m.

Lakehurst will have fireworks July 3 along Lake Horizon at dusk.

Lakewood’s Independence Day celebration is on July 3 and begins at 7:15 p.m. with a concert by the Wilbur Wittemann Patriotic Band at the All Wars Memorial Amphitheater, culminating in fireworks around 9:15 p.m.

The Lavallette Independence Day Extravaganza Fireworks and Concert starts at 8 p.m. at the gazebo on July 7. The fireworks will start at dusk.

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach will have a fireworks show on July 4 at 9 p.m.

Tuckerton’s celebration is July 4 starting at 4 p.m. at Tuckerton Seaport, culminating in fireworks at dusk.

PASSAIC COUNTY

Clifton’s Fourth of July celebration is on July 4 at Main Memorial Park, from noon to 6 p.m. It includes food, crafts, health screenings, clowns, free activities and rides for children. A fireworks display will be held at the Clifton High School Stadium beginning at dusk.

The Little Falls 4th of July Street Fair on July 4 goes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. along Main Street and Stevens Avenue. There will be merchandise vendors, crafters, kiddie rides, food, pony rides, and other entertainment.

SALEM COUNTY

Four Seasons Family Campground will have a fireworks show on July 6.

The neighboring communities of Woodstown and Pilesgrove are the setting for several events July 4. The Woodstown Firecracker 5K run starts at 8 a.m. at Marlton Recreation Park, located in Pilesgrove. The annual Woodstown 4th of July Parade, held every year since 1932, begins at 10 a.m. at Allen Avenue, up South Main Street through the center of Woodstown, up North Main Street and onto Marlton Road and ends at Marlton Park. Fireworks at night at Marlton Park.

SOMERSET COUNTY

The Independence Day Family Festival in Bridgewater is July 5, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., at North Branch Park. Food will be available for purchase, and a Revolutionary War encampment will re-create life during the 1770s. Fireworks starting at 9:30 p.m.

Franklin Township’s Independence Day Celebration is July 3 starting at 6 p.m. at the municipal complex. Fireworks will start at 9:15 p.m.

Hillsborough’s Independence Day Celebration starts June 29 at 5 p.m. at Auten Road Intermediate School. Fireworks starting at 9 p.m.

Montgomery’s Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks is June 27 starting 6 p.m. at Montgomery High School on June 27. Fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m.

North Plainfield’s Fourth of July parade will be July 4 starting at 10 a.m. The fireworks will begin at dusk on July 6 at West End School Field.

SUSSEX

The Sussex County Miners, an independent league baseball team in Frankford, will have a fireworks display July 4 after their game with the New Jersey Jackals. The game starts at 6:05 p.m.

The annual fireworks display inVernon, sponsored by the Vernon and Highland Lakes fire departments, will take place July 6 at Lounsberry Hollow Middle School on Sammis Road. The gates will open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 for a family or group of four; children under 5 enter free. Rain date will be July 7 or the next clear night.

UNION COUNTY

Cranford’s fireworks will be at Nomahegan Park on July 2 starting at around 9:15 p.m. On July 4, the 40th annual Cranford Jaycees Firecracker 4 Miler will be held at the park starting at 8:30 a.m.

Mountainside’s fireworks will start at dusk July 4 at the Our Lady of Lourdes fields.

New Providence’s Independence Day Celebration is July 3, on South Street from Gales Drive to Springfield Avenue, starting at 7 p.m. There will be “Chalk on South,” in which kids of all ages can get a free bucket of chalk to create art and messages on the street, and other events. Fireworks starting approximately 9:30 p.m.

Plainfield’s July 4th parade is July 4 at 10 a.m. starting on Front Street. There is a celebration starting at 4:30 p.m. at Cedarbrook Park, with fireworks at dusk.

Scotch Plains’ Independence Day Celebration is at Scotch Hills Country Club starting at 7:30 p.m. on June 29.

The City of Summit’s 72nd annual Fourth of July Celebration is July 4 at Soldiers Memorial Field, located at 5 Myrtle Avenue in Summit. The day-long celebration begins with a flag raising ceremony at 9:45 a.m., followed by a decorated bicycle parade for children at 10 a.m. Rides, amusements, and entertainment will continue until 1 p.m. Evening activities, includes rides, entertainment, and a food truck festival, will begin at 6 p.m. Fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

Union Township’s Fourth of July Festivities are taking place along Stuyvesant Ave and in Biertuempfel Park on July 4, starting at 10 a.m. with the 12th annual All-American Soap Box Derby. Fireworks to begin at 9 p.m at Biertuempfel Park.

WARREN COUNTY

Allamuchy will have fireworks at dusk June 29 at Rutherford Hall. Rain date is July 30.

A holiday celebration in Blairstown is July 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Footbridge Park.

NEW YORK CITY

The43rd annual Macy’s fireworks display over the East River, starting at about 9:25 p.m. July 4, will be seen be an estimated 3 million.

The Bayside Historical Society is hosting its 5th Annual Independence Day Celebration at Fort Totten Park on June 26, with fireworks starting at 9:15 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA

There will be fireworks over the Philadelphia Museum of Art on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway starting around 9:30 p.m.
