Karl Schaefer, a special education teacher, was the winner chosen from entries submitted to Ocean County Applebee’s. He will receive a $500 sponsorship check to use toward teaching supplies for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year, along with an end-of-year party at Applebee’s for the his current class.

Students nominated candidates by submitting essays in-person at their local Applebee’s explaining why their teacher goes above and “Bee”yond for their students. Contest submissions were reviewed by the local Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar team to select winners.
