Millburn Police Respond to Rash of Thefts at Short Hills Mall – TAPinto.net

MILLBURN, NJ – On April 16, 2019 Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to the Sephora store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Sephora personnel report a white female wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the word “kindness” on the front took 3 items valued at $82.00 and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

Also on April 16, 2019 Millburn Police Officer Nacim responded to headquarters on a theft report. A resident reports the theft of his mountain bicycle valued at $200.00 from the side of his house on Millburn Ave sometime within the last day. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

Also on April 16, 2019 Millburn Police Officer McMillan responded to the Sunglass Hut store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Sunglass Hut personnel report a black male wearing all black with short black hair attempted to purchase cleaning supplies with a counterfeit $100.00 bill. Another black male wearing all black with a ponytail concealed 2 pairs of sunglasses valued at $1355.00 in his jacket and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 17, 2019 Millburn Police Officer McMillan responded to the Middlesex County Correctional Facility on a warrant arrest. Antoinett Myers, age 31 of Linden, was placed under arrest on an outstanding criminal warrant and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

Also on April 17, 2019 Millburn Police Officer Lipke responded to headquarters on a theft report that occurred between April 8-16, 2019. The resident reports a hybrid Schwinn, hybrid Diamond Back, and child seat with a total value of $808.00 was taken from her garage at Short Hills Circle. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 19, 2019 Millburn Police Officer O’Neill responded to the Sunglass Hut store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Sunglass Hut personnel report 2 individuals, later identified as 26 year old Ricky Cedeno and 25 year old Briana Martinez both of Union City concealed sunglasses with a total value of $844.00 and left the store without making payment. Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped their vehicle on Rt 24 and placed them both under arrest. They were found to have additional stolen property from Neiman Marcus, Aldo, and Sephora. Mr. Cedeno and Ms. Martinez were charged with shoplifting and released on a summons.

Also on April 19, 2019 Millburn Police Officer O’Neill responded to the Hugo Boss store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Hugo Boss personnel report 51 year old Terrance Boone of Newark concealed $2088.00 worth of merchandise under his clothing and left the store without making payment. Mr. Boone was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting before being released on a summons.

On April 20, 2019 Millburn Police Lieutenant Ronceray stopped a 2002 Nissan Altima for parking in a loading zone near lot 5. The investigation led to the arrest of 21 year old Manuel Morales of Union City for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Morales was issued a summons and released.

On April 24, 2019 Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to the Salvatore Ferragamo store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Salvatore Ferragamo personnel report a black female wearing a black baseball cap, Nike Poncho, and orange sneakers took 4 belts valued at $1650.00 and ran out of the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 25, 2019 Millburn Police Officer Nacim stopped a 2015 Honda Accord in A lot at the mall for having no rear license plate. The investigation led to the arrest of 22 year old Addae Williams of Irvington for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Williams was issued a summons and released.

On April 26, 2019 Millburn Police Officer Manuyag responded to Panera on Rt 124 on a report of a motor vehicle theft from the lot. The resident reports his 2016 Lexus E35 was taken from the lot between 9-10:00 am. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

Also on April 26, 2019 Millburn Police Officer Hunt responded to Macys on a theft report. Macys personnel report 54 year old Janice Holmes of Bloomfield, concealed 11 items valued at $1395.00 and left the store without making payment. Ms. Holmes was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. Ms. Holmes was turned over to the Cedar Grove Police Department on an active warrant. 

On April 27, 2019 Millburn Police Officer O’Neill responded to Macys on a theft report. Macys personnel report 32 year old Angel Jones of Hillside concealed 13 items valued at $754.50 in bags and left the store without making payment. Ms. Jones was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons. 

Also on April 27, 2019 Millburn Police Officer Lanni responded to the Hollister store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Hollister personnel report 56 year old Jacqueline Vega of Queens concealed 5 items valued at $224.75 in her purse and left the store without making payment. Ms. Vega was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons. 

On April 29, 2019 Millburn Police Officer Lanni responded to the Tory Burch store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Hollister personnel report a black female with short hair and large glasses wearing all black and carrying a red/white bag took 2 items valued at $596.00 and left the store without making payment. The same actor took 3 items on April 23, 2019 valued at $894.00 and left the store without making payment. Both incidents are under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
