TRENTON, NJ – The New Jersey State Police will be accepting applications from April 29, 2019 through May 12, 2019. The selection process consists of an initial application, physical qualification test, written examination, a comprehensive background investigation, and in-person interview.
Applications will be screened to determine minimum qualifications and automatic disqualifiers.
According to the agency, the current starting salary for a trooper is $62,736.93, which includes an uniform allowance. The second-year total compensation significantly increases to $70,515.96. Top pay for a Trooper I is $111,037.11. Troopers receive yearly increments.
All recruits receive $1175.00 every two weeks. Room and board are also provided while training.
