Dog attack in McDonald’s parking lot sends adult, 3 kids to hospital with injuries – NJ.com
A dog attacked and bit three children and a man in the parking lot of a McDonald’s in Newark on Thursday morning, authorities said.
The dog dashed out of a nearby gate around 8 a.m. and began running loose next to the McDonald’s restaurant near the intersection of Broadway and Elwood Avenue, police and a witness said.
All four were brought to a local hospital to be treated for injuries not considered life-threatening. The children are 9, 11 and 12 years old, authorities said.

Animal control officers seized the dog, whose owner was there when they arrived.
The McDonald’s is located steps from Luis Munoz Marin Middle School, but a police spokesman said the dog never entered the school.
A sanitation employee working in the area told News 12 New Jersey he began tossing bottles from his truck at the dog to try to halt the attack by what was described as a German shepherd. The worker said the dog dashed out of a nearby gate that had been left open and began biting people.
