Montclair HS Rowing Head Coach Voted US Rowing Junior Coach of the Year – TAPinto.net

MONTCLAIR, NJ – Montclair High School Rowing Head Coach Jeremy Michalitsianos has been voted the 2018 US Rowing Junior Coach of the Year, school officials announced. He has also been selected as the 2018 Joy of Sculling Coach of the Year.

A 10 year coach of the Montclair High School program, Michalitsianos has coached his crews to countless SRAA championships, a second undefeated scholastic season, and most recently a bronze-medal finish in the boys varsity eight at the 2018 USRowing Youth National Championships, according to a release.

Michalitsianos won the US Rowing status after garnering 2996 votes, equaling 43% of the vote and beating out four other finalists.

Now in their eighth year, the USRowing Fan’s Choice Awards recognize excellence in rowing across seven categories. The USRowing recognition is given for superior performance and contributions to the success of the sport in 2018
