It’s a new year and already the “52 Thoroughbreds need homes” post is being re-circulated on social media.

In 2011 there were indeed, 52 horses in Ohio needing to be re-homed after their owner died. They were all successfully placed. Since then the post periodically pops up and goes viral — again and again.
