Hanukkah, Candle Lighting At Temple Ner Tamid In Essex County – Bloomfield, NJ Patch

Hanukkah celebrations begin at Temple Ner Tamid, located at 936 Broad Street in Bloomfield, with a festive Tot Shabbat for young children and their families from 6 pm to 6.30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7. Sing and dance with Rabbi Katz and Cantor Meri. Bring your Hanukkah menorah from home with seven candles. Stay for a potluck dinner (no meat, shellfish, or nuts, please.)
At 7 pm there will be a Sufganiot (jelly doughnut) Demonstration and Hanukkah sing-along for all ages. Come and learn how to make the most delicious Hanukkah treat with Chef Meny Vaknin of Mishmish and Marcel Bakery while being serenaded by adorable Shoresh singers and Cantor Meri.
The community is invited to join the congregation for the Shabbat service at 8 pm. There will be a communal candle lighting so bring your favorite Hanukkah menorah from home with seven candles and a wonderful chance to hear about Chef Meny’s culinary journey from Israel to the United States. The delicious Oneg Shabbat will feature desserts from Marcel Bakery.
