22nd Annual Kiwanis Club “Grand Tasting” at Hanover Manor

Hot and cold appetizers will be on hand, but the major player at the Kiwanis Club’s 22nd Grand Tasting is wine, craft beer, and spirits, which you can sip and sample over the course of three hours for $65. Proceeds from the event go to benefit Camp Nejeda, which offers both a summer camp and programs from children and teenagers with type 1 diabetes. Pop-up Fall Dinner at The Station

The Station, a collaborative coffee shop and arts center in Merchantville, will be hosting a series of themed pop-up dinners to usher in fall. This Friday’s inaugural dinner is a vegetarian menu from chef Justin Lingl of Root Catering in Oaklyn (creamy chestnut soup, fall Panzanella with pepitas, beet cavatelli with ricotta, etc.). If someone you love has something big to celebrate, and you both love wine and steak, this Saturday’s event at Morton’s in Hackensack just might be the way to go. Tickets are hefty at $295 per person—and likely to go quick—but you’ll also get a lot for the price of admission, including a six-course meal (blini with caviar, butter-poached lobster, filet mignon), Mondavi wine pairings (from each of the four Mondavi generations), and a glimpse at some of the famous winery’s upcoming projects. American Cancer Society’s Fourth Annual Taste of Hope

The New Jersey chapter of the American Cancer Society’s Taste of Hope gala will gather some of the state’s top culinary talent for a three-hour walk-around tasting of food and drink. Dream Dinner at Jersey Shore Restaurant Week

A marquee to ring in Jersey Shore Restaurant Week (November 2-11), the Dream Dinner gathers five Shore restaurant chefs for an inaugural dinner, including Meg LaManna from B2 Bistro, Terry Eleftheriou from Shipwreck Grill, Robert Burke from Drifthouse by David Burke, Mark Marandola from Marandola’s and Pablo Toxqui from host restaurant Cross & Orange. Each chef will prepare a course for the dinner, and each course will be paired with a wine from his or her restaurant’s own wine list (the menu includes red wine-braised short ribs, swordfish, and toasted coconut cake, among other goodies).
