Chatham Starts Out Fast in Defeating Hanover Park in Round of 16 of the Morris County Girls Volleyball Tournament

CHATHAM, NJ – The seedings indicated that it was going to be a battle for No. 7 Chatham against visiting Hanover Park, the No. 10 seed, in the round of 16 of the Morris County girls volleyball tournament.

But Chatham got off to a very fast start and didn’t look back in posting a 25-12, 25-12 two-set win on Wednesday at Chatham High.

Chatham (9-3) moved out to an early lead and led, 14-3, after junior middle Naila Ismail scored a block (see the video below).

Six different Chatham players posted kills in the two games and seven each had at least one service ace.

“I think it was very much a group effort,” Chatham coach Anna Amster said. “Some people played positions they don’t usually play, so they stepped in and played that role for us.”

Greeve led Chatham with five kills (see one in video below) and also posted a block, three digs and a service ace.

Junior libero Eesha Nagpal made a big play off the ceiling and then came up with a diving dig in helping Chatham win the point in the video below.
