Santa Cleared for Landing his Helicopter on Nutley Park Oval Nov. 23

NUTLEY, NJ – The Nutley Board of Commissioners unanimously approved an event application for Santa Claus to land his helicopter on the Nutley Park Oval Nov. 23 as a kick off to the shop-local holiday season.

According to Nutley Chamber of Commerce president, Dan Leon approximately 4,500 people lined up around the Oval waiting to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus and grab a photo with them in 2017.

In 2018, Nutley School of Music will be among the performers.

Santa has arrived in Nutley by helicopter for nearly 60 years. There were a few years where he arrived in a convertible, but the drive from above the Arctic Circle proved to be a long one, so he returned to taking flight.
