1 Stolen, 4 Burglarized Cars Reported In Summit
SUMMIT, NJ — Summit Police reported one car was stolen and four were burglarized recently in the City, according to the blotter.
On Aug. 9 at 8:55 a.m.: A report was taken for a stolen motor vehicle from a Bellevue Avenue residence. The victim reported the incident occurring sometime in the overnight between 8 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. Taken from the residence was a 2015 white Volkswagen Passat. The victim relayed that the vehicle had been left unsecured with the key fob inside during the overnight.
On Aug. 17 at 1:54 a.m.: A report was taken for entry into two parked vehicles at a Clark Street residence. The first vehicle, a Chevy Equinox, was secured. The actor(s) gained entry to the vehicle by smashing the front passenger side window with a paver, however, nothing was removed. The second vehicle was entered through an unsecured door, with nothing taken as well. The victim exited the residence after being awoken by a noise
outside. The suspects entered a dark colored minivan that sped off from the area, after seeing the homeowner open the door to the home.
On Aug. 17 at 2:31 a.m.: A report was taken for entry made into an unsecured vehicle parked in a Clark Street driveway. The victim advised nothing of value was missing at the time of the report.

Other Summit Police blotter items:
On Aug. 9: Ocarlo S. Lloyd, 22, of Newark was arrested and charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance (CDS). Lloyd was processed and released with a pending court date.
On Aug. 9 at 4:51 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a Springfield Avenue business. The victim reported the incident occurred at about 4:43 p.m. when an individual was seen in the store trying on a pair of Sonya Renee 10 mm Druzy silver stud earrings. The suspect then removed the price tag from the earrings and walked out of the business. The total value of the stolen item was approximately $75.
On Aug. 10: Ramy Y. El-Daly, 23, of Springfield was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Irvington. El-Daly was processed and released with a pending court date.
On Aug. 11 at 9:12 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft of racing equipment from a Shunpike Road home. The victim reported the incident occurring sometime between 4 p.m. on July 15 and 12 p.m. on July 20. Taken from the property was a black bag containing a gray Stilo racing helmet and miscellaneous electronic two radio communication equipment. The total value of the stolen items was approximately $1,600.
On Aug. 16 at 11 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a Union Place business. The victim reported a black man, between 50-60 years old, wearing a black hat, gray collared shirt and black pants entered the establishment and ordered food. The individual was unable to pay for the meal, however was provided it anyways. When the employee returned to the counter a short time later, it was noticed that money from the
tip jar was missing. After reviewing surveillance footage, it was discovered the man who entered the establishment had removed approximately $40 in cash from the jar.
On Aug. 18: Jeffrey Gregory, 57, of Newark was arrested on a contempt of court warrant for child neglect out of Essex County. Gregory was processed and subsequently transported to the Essex County Jail where custody was turned over to their officers.
On Aug. 18: Darguin Galvez-Jimenez, 35, of Hammonton was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Galvez-Jimenez was processed and released with a pending court date.
On Aug. 18: Jose R. Cartright, 39, of Edison, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, use of paraphernalia and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. Cartright was processed and released with a pending court date.
On Aug. 20: Angel Mendiolea, 70, of Summit was arrested and charged with simple assault. Mendiolea was processed and released with a pending court date.
On Aug. 22 at 11:11 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a bicycle secured to the train station bike rack. The victim reported the incident occurred on Aug. 21 between 10:40 a.m. and 5 p.m. Taken from the bicycle was the rear mudguard, black in color. Total value of the stolen item was approximately $20.
