Montclair Farmers’ Market: Double Value Coupon Program Returns

MONTCLAIR, NJ – The Montclair Farmers’ Market has announced that its Double Value Coupon Program for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and Senior FMNP (Farmers Market Nutrition Program) customers is back thanks to its partnership with Partners for Health Foundation, City Green, and Garden State Good Food Network.

As part of the program, the Montclair Farmers’ Market will be able to double the value of SNAP, WIC and Senior FMNP vouchers (up to $20) for fresh fruits and vegetables at the market. In other words, when customers spend $20 of their SNAP benefits or vouchers at the market, they will be able to purchase $40 worth of produce from the farmers.

For seniors that have not received Senior FMNP vouchers this year, Essex County Division of Senior Services will be distributing vouchers to eligible seniors at the Montclair Farmers’ Market for one day only on Saturday, August 4th, 2018 from 9am – 1pm. All applicants (age 60+) should bring a valid photo ID, as well as proof of income and residency. Eligible residents can earn no more than $22,459 annually, or $1,872 monthly.

The Montclair Farmers’ Market can be found at the Walnut Street Train Station parking lot every Saturday (through November 17) from 8am-2pm. To learn more about the Montclair Farmers’ Market visit  www.montclairfarmersmarket.org or www.facebook.com/MontclairNJFarmersMarket.
