Beloved Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother Joan Mary (Cahill) Schaefer, 91, passed away on July 27, 2022. She was born on March 20, 1931, in Oak Park, Illinois, to John and Elsie Cahill. She attended Arlington Heights High School and Mundelein College. She married the love of her life, Raymond F. Schaefer, on Nov. 5, 1955, in Arlington Heights. The pair raised four children in Illinois before moving to Kansas. Joan eventually relocated to New Jersey to be closer to her beloved family. The beloved matriarch of her family, Joan was the loving mother of Thomas R. Schaefer (Brenda Mirly), Maggie Osmulski (Paul), the late John F. Schaefer, and Marianne (Schaefer) Hauck (Steve). She is also survived by her eight cherished grandchildren, Lauren (Schaefer) Nagel (Ehren), Anna Schaefer, Eric Schaefer, Max Osmulski, Molly Osmulski, Grace Hauck, Grant Hauck and Katherine Hauck and three great-grandchildren, Lydia, August, and Eden Nagel. Visiting hours at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. in Chatham NJ will be on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral mass and burial in Lenexa, Kansas, will be announced at a later date.
