Secaucus Police Blotter, July 11 – July 17 – Patch

SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police, all of last week’s arrests:

On July 12 at 10:59 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to Walmart located at 400 Park Plaza Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 26-year-old female, Bolanle Aliyu of Brooklyn, NY along with a 35 year old female, Yarisa Sealey of Brooklyn, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. Ms. Aliyu and Ms. Sealey were issued their complaint summons and were released from police custody.

On July 15 at 10:04 p.m., Secaucus Police stopped a 2011 BMW 535xi in the area of Meadowlands Parkway/Rt. 3 west for suspicious activity and numerous motor vehicle violations. After a records check, the driver, 23-year-old male Brandon Wusu of the Bronx, NY, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Newark, NJ with no bail. Mr. Wusu was served a summons for Driving While Suspended (39:3-40) and was subsequently transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On July 16 at 12:10 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to the intersection of Meadowlands Parkway/10th Street West on a report of a motor vehicle crash. An on-scene investigation revealed that the driver, 28-year-old male Peter Soriano of Secaucus was intoxicated. Mr. Soriano was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (39:4-50), Reckless Driving (39:4-96), Careless Driving (39:4-97) and Leaving the scene of an accident (39:4-129b). He was served with his summonses and released to the custody of a responsible adult.

On July 17 at 1:10 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to the intersection of Flanagan Way/7th Street on a report of a vehicle blocking a fire hydrant. While on scene, the officer heard a car strike an unoccupied, parked vehicle on Flanagan Way. An on-scene investigation of the crash revealed that the driver of a 2013 white Lexus, 28-year-old male Bhumesh Hirapara of Secaucus, was intoxicated. Mr. Hirapara was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (39:4-50), Reckless Driving (39:4-96), and Careless Driving (39:4-97). He was served with his summonses and released to the custody of a responsible adult.

On July 17 at 11:37 p.m., Secaucus Police stopped a 2010 Honda CRV in the parking lot of 400 Rt. 3 West for several motor vehicle violations. After a records check, the driver, 29-year-old male Rogelio Vazquez of Passaic, was arrested on two outstanding warrants out of Manalapan and Woodbridge. The Manalapan warrant had a bail of $1,000.00 and the Woodbridge warrant had a bail of $159.00. Mr. Vazques was served summonses for Failure to Use Lighted Lamps when Required (39:3-47A), and Failure to Properly Use Approved Child Restraint System (39:3-76.2A), and was released on his own recognizance.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
