Corporate, Civic Leaders and Celebrities Set to “Swing” into Action at 58th Annual Men of Essex Charity Golf Classic

ESSEX COUNTY – Scores of northern New Jersey’s corporate and civic leaders along with a host of celebrities plan to join the Men of Essex, in their efforts to raise $50,000 at its 58th Annual Golf Classic. The prestigious charity event will be held at the Cedar Hill Golf & Country Club, 100 Walnut Street, Livingston, New Jersey, on Monday, August 13, 2018. Registration and lunch begins at 11:00 a.m. — tee time is 1:00 p.m. 

Jazz broadcaster Rhonda Hamilton — mid-day host on the flagship jazz station WBGO — Jazz Radio 88.3 FM (wbgo.org) — an avid golfer — will be among the field of distinguished participants as an honored guest. A salute to her award-winning career achievements and contributions to the growth and development of America’s Classic Music (Jazz) will be held at the awards banquet. 

Hamilton has achieved widespread acclaim as an award-winning on-air host since WBGO began broadcasting in 1979.

Proceeds from the Golf Classic benefit the Men of Essex Student Aid Fund, which assists Essex County students achieve their higher education aspirations. The tournament is one of the nation’s longest running sports benefits hosted by an African – American charitable organization and has attracted the support of leading area corporations who have joined the Men of Essex as tournament co-sponsors.
