Jackson Police looking for home burglars who held up residents – wobm.com
It was a terrifying scene for residents of a home on Lewis Lane in Jackson Township after multiple suspects broke in, committed a heist at gunpoint, and then left.
Jackson Police said officers responded last Thursday around 11:55 pm after multiple reports came in that shots were fired between Lewis Lane and Toms River Road (Route 571).
Once on scene, police said they were directed to the home where multiple unknown suspects went in, brandished a firearm, and then robbed the people living there by reportedly stealing a cell phone, and prescription medication.
Police then learned that the suspects fled the scene in a light-colored 4-door sedan as multiple gunshots were heard in the area.
Ocean County CSI then responded to the scene to assist Jackson Police in the investigation.
Police officers checked the perimeter, while detectives conducted interviews.
The search and investigation into the home armed robbery are ongoing, so if you have any information on what happened or other pertinent details, you’re asked to contact Detective Brian Baranyay or Detective Stephen Purtell of the Jackson Police Department at 732-928-1111.
