Scotch Plains, Fanwood Primary Day 2018 Information

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — On Tuesday, voters will be heading to the polls to cast their ballots in the primary election. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Locally, in Scotch Plains there are no contested races with three Democrats and three Republicans vying for the three four-year township council seats.

Democrats include: Elizabeth C. Stamler of 204 Byrd Ave., Roshan M. White of 441 Myrtle Ave. and Joshua G. Losardo of 11 Scotchwood Glen. Republicans include: Andrew Bondarowicz of 2216 Jersey Ave., Sonali Dalvi of 1 Azalea Ct. and Jeff Kowalczyk of 1947 Duncan Dr.

In Fanwood, there is also no contested races with two Democrats and one Republican vying for the two three-year councilman seats.

Democrats include: Erin A. McElroy Barker of 143 Hunter Ave. and Patricia Walsh of 100 Russell Rd. The lone Republican is Brian Walter of 51 Fourth St.

On the county level, there is a contested race for Democrats with six running for the three three-year Board of Freeholder seats.

Democratic candidates include: Alexander Mirabella of 11 Tillotson Rd., Fanwood; Andrea F. Staten of 223 Victory St., Roselle; Kimberly Mouded, 490 Otisco Dr., Westfield; Alex Lospinoso of 119 Livingston Rd., Linden; Patrick Gargano of 500 Fairway Rd., Linden; and Kaiby Sandoval of 200 N. Park Ave., Linden.

There is no contested race for the Republicans with three running for the three seats. Candidates include: Patricia Quattrocchi of 233 Lexington Blvd., Apt 9, Clark; Joseph R. Sarno III of 658 Willow Ave., 1st Fl, Garwood; and Peter G. Kane of 3 Iris Rd., Summit.

On the congressional level there is a contested race for the 7th Congressional District seat.

The two-year term seat is currently held by Leonard Lance, who has held the seat since 2009. District 7 covers all of Hunterdon County, and parts of Essex, Morris, Somerset, Union, and Warren counties.

  • District 10, 11: St. John The Baptist Church, 2387 Morse Ave., Fellowship Hall
  • District 12, 13: William McGinn School, 1100 Roosevelt Ave., Lobby of Gym Wing
  • District 14, 15: Immaculate Heart-Mary Church, 1571 Martine Ave., Rear Building
  • District 16, 21: Southside Firehouse, 1920 Raritan Rd.
  • District 17, 18: Terrill Middle School, 1301 Terrill Rd., Auditorium Lobby
