Steven Van Zandt will talk about his upcoming memoir “Unrequited Infatuations” at Montclair’s First Congregational Church, as part of Succeed2gether’s fifth annual Montclair Literary Festival, Oct. 3 at 5 p.m. Tickets are not yet available but will go on sale soon, according to a press release.

The E Street Band member and “Sopranos” actor, whose other credits and projects are too numerous to mention, is planning to release the book on Sept. 28.

Other authors participating in the festival, scheduled for Oct. 2-3, include

Colm Tóibín (talking about his new book, “The Magician,” Oct. 3 at 2 p.m.), Henry Winkler (co-author of the Hank Zipzer series of children’s books), Joyce Carol Oates, Paul Auster, Kai Bird, Ly Tran, Robert Reich, Jonathan Santlofer, Thad Ziolkowski, Gabrielle Glaser, Qian Julie Wang, Anna Qu, Lori Richmond and Hayley Krischer.

Most will be appearing in person, at the church or at the Montclair Public Library, though there will be some online events (including Tóibín’s), as well.

“After hosting over 40 online events over the past 18 months, we are looking forward to presenting a mainly in-person festival,” said festival director Jackie Mroz in the press release. “We’ve loved the opportunity to hear from many amazing authors but the buzz of an in-person author event, the chance to chat with the author and to get a book signed, can’t be underestimated.”

Except for the Van Zandt and Tóibín events, all will be free.
