Hoboken Public Library’s Summer Reading Programs

Summer Reading is back at the Hoboken Public Library | 500 Park Avenue, 124 Grand Street, and 400 Harrison Street, Hoboken and running through mid-August. Programs are available for children, kids, teens, and adults, and feature in-person events, classes, and fun activities to do at home, outside, or at the three library locations. NYC Pride is excited to bring back Youth Pride, a celebration of and for LGBTQIA+ and ally teens, as a virtual gathering in 2021. For this year’s experience, NYC Pride has partnered with youth-focused LGBT centers, organizations, and programs nationwide to present the iconic annual Youth Pride virtual event. This program follows 2019’s unforgettable event at which 10,000+ LGBTQIA+ teens came together for a day of performances, appearances, activations, and dancing at Central Park’s Summerstage. The city of Hoboken recently released its summer schedule of Concerts in the Park and other events, including tributes over the summer to three musical legends: Hoboken native Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, and songwriting great Tom Petty. Artist Issa Sow will lead “Let’s Play Together,” a weekly creativity workshop for kids ages 3-11. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Held outside in the walkway by the Museum entrance, the program is designed to be inclusive of children around the entire neurodiversity spectrum, so they can learn to create art, music, and dance movement together.
