34 N.J. breweries now offering a free beer for vaccine shots. Here’s the growing list. – NJ.com

An additional 22 breweries in New Jersey have signed on to offer a free beer to people 21 and older who receive a first coronavirus vaccination shot this month.

Anyone who wants a complimentary brew can bring their vaccination card to one of the 34 participating breweries by May 31, Gov. Phil Murphy said. He announced an initial list of 12 breweries on Monday and the others reached out since then to join the promotion.

The following breweries are offering are now participating in the “Shot and a Beer” program:

At least 3,210,201 people who live, work or study in the state are fully vaccinated, officials said Wednesday. Another 157,928 New Jersey residents have received their shots out of state. Murphy aims to have 4.7 million New Jersey adults vaccinated by the end of June.

New Jersey officials on Wednesday reported another 1,309 confirmed coronavirus cases and an additional 34 confirmed deaths.

The state’s seven-day average for new confirmed positive COVID-19 tests fell to 1,383, down 33% from a week ago and 64% from a month ago. Wednesday marked the seventh time in eight days the state has reported fewer than 2,000 new cases.
