The COVID-19 vaccine is being administered at more than 100 sites across New Jersey with plans to inoculate 70% of the state’s adult population.
The shots to prevent the spread of coronavirus were initially are being given to health care workers, long-term care residents, others in congregant living settings, police and firefighters. Gov. Phil Murphy announced Wednesday that the eligibility would expand to those 65 years of age or older within days.
As of Wednesday, at least 264,681 doses had been given across the state out of 654,900 doses distributed to New Jersey, according to the CDC’s tracker and the state’s dashboard.
More than 1 million people have registered on the state’s online portal to receive the vaccine, officials said.
In the next six months, New Jersey plans to vaccinate about 4.7 million people. The general public should be able to receive the vaccinations by April or May, according to state and federal officials.
There will be six distribution mega-site across New Jersey, officials have said.
The following is the state’s list of approved vaccination sites. Some sites, however, may not yet received deliveries of the vaccine and are not yet taking appointments. Supplies may also fluctuate daily as the federal government sends more vaccines to states.
