Roseland Line A Democrats – Involved in the Roseland Community

Spango, Fishman, Freda, Bardi and the entire Line “A” Team work to make our Community Better

It was a productive week for the Line “A” Democratic Team starting with Opening day of Roseland’s Spring Youth Baseball and Softball Season at Bond Force Park.  Cate Freda, the young Roseland resident who was named “Honorary Mayor” at the 25th annual Lester Noecker Tricky Tray event in 2017, and daughter of Line “A” Council Candidate Roger Freda, and Line “A” County Committee Candidate Jessica Freda, threw out the ceremonial first pitch of the season at the Opening Day Parade.  Line “A” Mayor Candidate, James Spango, was at the parade as he volunteers as a coach for the Roseland 3rd and 4th grade Softball Team, Line “A” County Committee member and Councilman Chris Bardi was there supporting his wife who also volunteers as both a softball coach and a T-Ball Coach, and Line “A” Council Candidate Eileen Fishman was there supporting all the players and teams.

Saturday, April 28th, was also the annual Earth Day Celebration at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland, thousands of families came out and enjoyed the free, family-friendly event which include hands-on educational games and activities, canoe trips, bird walks, environmental information booths, “nature-themed” live music and an eco-market.  None of that would have been possible without the assistance of Roseland Line A County Committee Member, and Democratic Chairman Julius “Jay” Coltre who as purchasing director was instrumental in preparing for the Earth Day Celebration

Line “A” Council and County Committee Candidate Eileen Fishman was a leader in the Essex County portion of the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day that was held on Saturday April 28th.  The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.   Her work in this endeavor goes a long way in keeping our children drug free.

Also on Saturday, Line “A” Council Candidate Roger Freda continued his yearly tradition of volunteering to sit in the “dunk tank” for a local Day Care who held a Carnival Style party in Roseland over the weekend.  That assignment was particularly inspiring as it was unusually cold for late April!!

On Thursday Line “A” Mayors Candidate James Spango eloquently spoke at the Roseland Board of Education meeting shedding much needed light on issues regarding staffing, programming, safety and transparency concerning our children’s education.
