Halloween Update from Mayor Robert Parisi

Hello…this is a message from Mayor Robert Parisi:

With Halloween approaching, the Township asks all those participating to be careful and follow this basic guidance for a successful and safe Halloween:

All trick-or-treaters should maintain social distancing and wear proper face coverings. A costume mask is not considered a suitable face covering for protection from the virus.

Only household members should trick-or-treat together, and they should maintain social distance from other trick-or-treaters.

Alcohol based hand-sanitizer should be carried and used frequently.

Candy collected during trick-or-treating should not be consumed until after hand washing. And as always, a parent or guardian should inspect all candy.

Be aware of your surroundings and all vehicular traffic, especially if walking in the street because of social distancing.

Those residents welcoming trick-or-treaters should leave a porch light on to signal participation or display the printable sign welcoming trick-or-treaters the Township has posted on the Township website and Facebook page. No residents should feel pressured to participate.

All candy should be individually packaged so that trick-or-treaters can grab and go without accessing a shared bowl.

Items can be placed on a table, steps, or the edge of the driveway.

It is recommended that you limit interaction with trick-or-treaters, wear a mask and wash hands frequently when distributing or replacing candy.

Candy should be commercially packaged and non-perishable.

All residents are reminded to use extra caution if operating a motor vehicle when trick-or-treaters are present.

This virus requires we all be more cautious but does not have to spoil the fun. Be careful…but enjoy Halloween!

Thank you.
