North Jersey Chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc. Teens Creating Voter Registration Awareness – TAPinto.net
Essex County, NJ -The Senior Teens of the North Jersey Chapter of Jack & Jill, Incorporated, had a successful voter registration drive. The group set up a table outside of the Orange Public Library on a busy Saturday morning. Orange Mayor Dwayne Warren, Esq. welcomed the group and listened as they talked about generating community awareness.
As residents passed by, the Senior Teens asked each person if they were registered to vote, and if they were not registered, the teens took action. “This has been such a fulfilling experience. Getting one person at a time to register for their first time, is a good feeling. Now more than ever, we need to vote”, expressed Madison Oliver, President of the Senior Teens of North Jersey Chapter. The group spoke with residents in the community about the electoral process and the importance in registering and voting.
Alison Scott-Williams, President of the North Jersey Chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc. said,
“Our young people understand now more than ever that every vote counts and the importance of this election. We are proud of our young advocates and may their example inspire all of us.”
