60-year-old woman struck, killed by driver in Essex County – NJ.com

A 60-year-old woman was struck and killed by a driver on Thursday while crossing a street in Orange, acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens said Friday.

Dilonna Mauricio, of Orange, was crossing High Street near the Park Avenue at approximately 5:46 a.m. intersection when she was struck by a driver of an Acura MDX, authorities said.

The driver of the car remained at the scene, authorities said. Mauricio was taken to University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 6:20 a.m.

No charges have been filed against the driver and the investigation is still ongoing, authorities said.
